Blessed with an opportunity to fully engage in all levels and functional areas of a rapidly growing business.  I had the privilege to personally train and mentor some excellent talent within every functional area.  With rapid progression from a Six Sigma Black Belt to a Sr. Director of Operational Excellence, it would not have been possible without the guidance, support, and friendship of those I had the luxury of helping to grow personally and professionally.

Executive Director, Operational Excellence

2018 -to- 2020

  • Realized $4.5M annual savings within Aftermarket, Operational, and Financial Business processes, applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologies. 

  • Increased revenue by $100M while boosting operating income from 12% to 16% by applying Hoshin Kanri planning tools, ensuring alignment of global functions.

  • Coached and mentored over 120+ team members and certified 30+ subject matter experts in Lean and Six Sigma methods. 

  • Incorporated Continuous Improvement and Problem-Solving tools to eliminate waste and improve efficiencies by 20% in global Supply Chain and Marketing business processes.

  • Directed multiple functions as in Customer Quality, Warranty, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Continuous Improvement

  • Created an enterprise wide Business Operating System engaging 12,000+ team members and process owners globally.

  • Developed and deployed the JLG Production System which created a common language of Lean and Six Sigma tools that supported our journey toward World Class Manufacturing

  • Launched a Business Performance Management System (BPM) allowing all manufacturing sites to understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) which generated a culture of Data Driven Decision making.

What is the best way to learn the intricacies of a Global Supply Chain?  Fully engage yourself in one of the largest and most complex Global Supply Chains in the world.  With core castings arriving from Sweden, machined components arriving from Brazil, and your product consisting of 60% purchased components, your supply chain must be no short of excellent 24/7.

Leader, Logistics Development | Six Sigma Black Belt

2005  -to-  2007

  • Reduced inventory by 12% utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies within a Global Supply Chain.

  • Implemented 8 key Lean Material Handling concepts through a global network of continuous improvement teams while utilizing World Class Manufacturing techniques. 

  • Designed and deployed a $2M Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS) with automation of part picking and delivery through a combination of AGV and Industrial Tugger methods.

  • Mentor, train, and govern three greenbelts across multiple business units (Medical, Marine, Automotive, and Industrial).  Drive Continuous Improvement projects relating to cost reductions and increased capacity. 

  • Manage multiple Lean Six Sigma projects simultaneously across four business units.  Established "Just in Time" principles during the integration of two facilities.  Championed transformation from "Build to Stock" to "Build to Order" which required internal kanbans, "Point of Use" inventory, and cellular design.

Consisting of nine weeks of intense classroom education and required completion of two Six Sigma level projects for certification.  Classroom sessions were divided into three sections which allowed the implementation of real world projects in between training.  This program prepared me for the successful completion of over twelve Six Sigma level projects that led to increased sales, significant cost savings, and increased market share.
